In attendance at the front table on stage are Conrado Becquer, the head of the FNTA (smoking a cigar), Prime Minister Fidel Castro and President Osvaldo Dorticós. David Salvador, President of the CTC, the FNTA's umbrella union, is pictured giving a speech. Although affiliated to the 26th of July Movement from the beginning of the Revolution, Salvador eventually resigned from the directorship of the union in April of 1960 and was subsequently convicted of counterrevolutionary activities for which he received a twenty-year prison sentence.
