On this occasion, the main official being interviewed is Carlos Rafael Rodríguez, a member of the historic Communist Party in Cuba, called until 1961, the Partido Socialista Popular (PSP) and important journalist in Cienfuegos, Cuba. Rodríguez was appointed to join Prime Minister Fidel Castro's governing cabinet and as the radicalization of the Revolution proceeded in 1960, was increasingly given a much higher-profile role, despite his long-time affiliation with the PSP. Such an affiliation, prior to 1960, was considered a liability for the Castro-led government. See also Prints 7 and 9.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
