Purchased from Jean-Pierre de Villers, 1999., According to Jean-Pierre de Villers, the original scrapbooks were stored in La Banca del Santo Spirito in Rome between 1945 and 1975. In 1975 they were moved to Venice into the custody of Luce Marinetti-Barbi. Marinetti-Barbi had the scrapbooks photographed onto microfilm. The microfilm frames were then mounted onto slides. de Villers purchased the slides from Marinetti-Barbi in 1983 and sold them to the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library in 1999. Six hundred and eigthteen frames were damaged and sent by de Villers to a restoration company where they were cleaned and photographed. These remaining images went sent to the Library in 2005 under the original purchase agreement.
