Out of place and unpension'd [graphic][9 November 1769]engA gentleman, shown threee-quarters length, stands in a disconsolate manner looking left and pressing a walking stick to his chin; he stands before a table on which are a plate of radishes, a piece of bread, and a beer pot on which is engraved the owner's address "Mills Fleet Markt". The suggestion is that the man is in the Fleet Prison for debt. "The Middlesex Journal", a newspaper which supported the popular side at this period, is on the table; on the wall are a portrait of John Wilkes and "The Middlesex Petition".Title etched below image.
