Her hair is in a grotesquely caricatured erection, with side curls, intended to ridicule the fashions of the day; on the top of it is a hearse drawn by six horses, decorated with enormous ostrich-feathers. Similar feathers adorn the heads of the horses. On the left behind the lady, a skeleton stands at a rectangular table grasping with both hands an hour-glass whose sands have run into the lower glass out the bottom onto the table. On the table there is also a knife. The base of the skeleton's spine is transfixed by a large arrow. On the wall behind the lady's dressing-table is a portrait bust of a clergyman, in profile to the right (Dr. Wilson).</dc:description><dc:description>Title from item.</dc:description><dc:description>MD of publisher's name forms a monogram.</dc:description><dc:description>Numbered in plate at top: 3, v.2.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
