His feet are cut off by the lower margin. Behind and below him (right) are the grinning heads of Lord Stormont and Lord Derby, saying "Hear Hear Hear". Sackville faces a flag inscribed 'Irish [P]ropositions', above which is a dove with an olive-branch, symbolizing the reconciliation between the Opposition and Sackville, who is supposed to be acting under their orders. Below the design is etched: 'Head Quarters Brookes's, 18th July 1785 You are to attack the Enemy's Propositions at six o'clock this evening [Fox] To [Sackville]' The signature and address are represented by strokes of erasure, see BMSat 6802 A. Beneath the plate is written in an old hand (?
