Provenance: The bulk of the Jonathan Edwards Collection came to Yale as a gift of the heirs of Jonathan Edwards in 1900. Additional individual pieces, small groups of his papers, and especially, other family papers, have been added over the years through gift and purchase, chiefly from other Edwards descendants. Extent of Digitization: This object has been completely digitized.
Digitization Note: The amount of material at the beginning of No. 884 preserved in the Andover-Newton copy is sufficient to account for about 4 of the original manuscript pages. Nos. 881-883 were evidently very short of else the numberals were reserved for entries a the end of Book 3 which were probably never written. In his Table, JE states the number (probably 884) with which Book 4 begins, but the last digit is illegible. Book 4 originally consisted of 100 pages, of which 1-4 are lost, 5-100 extant.
