Dumouriez, foppishly dressed in regimentals, but with bare legs, his shirt confined by a sash, holds against his shoulder an enormous seal. He says, holding out his right hand, "Monsr Orange, I will seal up your Papers, & take care of your Cash". From his pocket hangs a scroll: 'New Laws for Holland Prepar'd by the Convention'. His 'aid du Camp' holds against his shoulder a gigantic piece of sealing-wax inscribed 'Fyn Se gelak wel brand en vart. houd', in his right hand is a large lighted candle or taper. He says, "Aha. Monr Grenouille I wou'd rather eat you than fight."
