Original draft of the song in the later version. The words are not completely filled in, one measure is cancelled. Published, together with the first version, in Liszt's Musikalische Werke, hrsg. von der Franz Liszt-Stiftung, VII. Einstimmige Lieder und Gesänge, Bd. 2, with full notes as to editions and manuscripts.
Provenance: Most of the manuscript music in the Speck Collection was assembled by William A. Speck, largely by purchase funded by the University, during the early years of the Collection's presence at Yale. Some items have been added in more recent times.
