Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. Doctors and their supporting staff perform an operation on a patient in the operating room at St. Luke's Hospital in Shanghai. A tray full of surgical implements is resting on the patient's legs. Artificial lighting is present. Two buckets lay on the floor at the foot of the patient's bed. This photo is from the papers of Elizabeth H. Falck, a member of the American Church Mission (ACM) in Shanghai, China (ca. 1923-1929).
