East Gate Sianfu by which we enter on our arrival A large building is perched on a hilltop. Large stone walls enclose the compound. The photograph was taken from the eastern side of the compound. The mission at Sianfu [Xianfu] was founded by Arthur Gostick Shorrock in 1890.
This photo is from the papers of Rev. Dean Goddard, an American Baptist missionary who served in Ningpo, Chekiang, China from 1870-1903.
