Description: A ground level view of the eastern gateway to the Sianfu [Xianfu] mission. The gate leads through a massive stone wall. A paved stone road lays before the gate. The road is heavily trafficked by Chinese laborers hauling wheelbarrows. A number of Chinese posters are pasted on the wall surrounding the gateway.

The Rev. Dean Goddard was an ABFMS missionary in Ningpo, Che-chiang, China from 1870-1903.
