Great quantities of raw melons are eaten. They are exposed for sale without protection of any kind; in addition raw water is poured on the cut surfaces to keep the melons fresh and moist. Incidentally the flies and dust contaminate the melons. To the right is a tray full of peeled water chestnuts which is also handled by many before actually sold and so constitutes a danger. Two small tables rest on a platform meant to be carried in a parade.</dc:description><dc:format>still image</dc:format></oai_dc:dc>
