The Carved stone is supposed to be symbolic of Chinese and Greek medicine.  The Greek words are 'You shall know the truth.' A view of the front entrance to the college.  In between the two sets of stairs are two reliefs.  The upper relief depicts an octagonal design with the various bars for the eight elements used in I Ching, with dragons and a yin-yang symbol in the center.
