Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. Mrs. M.C. Swen wife of Nanking professor carrying on researc[h] in photography in WCUU. She is using Chinese scale, which are more accurate than ordinary Western balances. Mrs. Swen, wearing a white lab coat, holds the scale in her left hand. Others partly visible on the other side of the lab counter, partly hidden by rows of bottles on shelf. University of Nanking students and professors were on campus of West China Union University during the Japanese occupation of their home campus.
