2. "Canton Christian College Boy Scouts and Students forming for parade and demonstration in Canton, off Shameen, the foreign concession, June 23. The Arm bands of mourning are being worn for the students slain by British police in Shanghai, May 30." A group of scouts in front of a large group of students wearing white uniforms. The students at the front are holding up flags, and further down the way, some other students hold up a banner. to the side is a person carrying baskets from a pole across their shoulders. Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. Photo relates to the Shameen incident of June 23, 1925, part of a nationwide series of strikes and demonstrations precipitated by the killing of 13 labor demonstrators by British police in Shanghai. Canton Christian College was later known as Lingnan University.
