Beside a road upon which people are walking, two grave sites are marked with low rectangular stone walls. A carved stone memorial stands at the head of one of the graves.
The back of the postcard is blank and contains a printed title: "Madagascar - Tombeau sur le Haut-Plateau de l'Imerina" ("Tomb on the High-Plateau of Imerina"). The back also contains printed information about the publisher: "Ste des Missions Evangeliques, 102, Bd Arago, Paris".
