Description
4 -- Mission d'HARAR (Abyssinie). -- Fabrication des Galettes de Dourah. ("Manufacture of Cakes of Durra.") A missionary sister holding a baby on her lap sits in the midst of a large group of Ethiopian women and children who are involved in the process of making durra cakes. Some sit on the ground with large bowls, others grind the grain in large mortars, others form cakes with their hands. Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive. The back of the postcard is blank and contains printed information about the publisher: "Congregation des Soeurs Franciscaines de Calais -- Maison-Mere: Rue Eustache-de-St-Pierre, Calais (P.-de-C.)."
