In front of a brick building, five indigenous boys carry walking sticks, two of whom also carry sacks over their shoulders, as if to depart on a journey. The back of the postcard is blank and contains printed information about the publisher: "Missions des Peres du St-Esprit - La Congregation du St-Esprit vouee au Salut de la race noire evangelise le tiers de l'Afrique, les Antilles et une grande partie de l'Amerique. Elle se consacre aux races et oeuvres les plus abandonnees." ("Mission of the Fathers of the Holy Spirit - the Congregation of Holy Spirit is dedicated to the health of the black race, evangelising one-third of Africa, the Antilles, and most of America. It is devoted to the abandoned races and works.")
