In Latin.
Script: Written in various styles of Anglicana, with some portions in gothic bookhand, by four scribes. Scribe 1) ff. 1r-10r; Scribe 2) ff. 10v-30r; Scribe 3) ff. 31r-107v; Scribe 4) f. 75r to the top of 76r (perhaps to supply text missing from the exemplar).
Blue initials with elaborate red, blue, and black penwork borders that almost totally encompass the written space on ff. 1r and 31r (trimmed along upper and outer edges); similar initials in blue with red penwork designs extending entire length of folio introduce each new section of text.
Binding: Nineteenth century. Brown sheepskin, blind- and gold-tooled. Rebacked. - Provenance
- Collection of Sir Thomas Phillipps (no. 9520). Given in 1926 by Leonard Bacon and Susan Bacon Keith in memory of their father Nathaniel Terry Bacon.
