He wears Roman armour with medieval greaves and a huge sabre; in his left hand is a large oval shield, in his right he supports a vertical tilting-lance, the head of which is cut off by the upper margin. His fantastic helmet is partly a cocked hat with a tricolour cockade; on it crouches a simian demon with webbed wings and long barbed tail, wearing a cap like the cornucopia of BMSat 9374, and spitting fire. Behind him (left) is a gobbling turkey-cock.
