Declaration of the people of Texas, in General Convention assembled
Abstract
Manuscript copy of the Declaration, without the title, written in an unidentified hand, possibly that of Branch T. Archer, president of the general convention of the provisional government of Texas, whose name appears at the bottom of the document. The wording of the manuscript varies from the printed version, and while it is dated 1835 Nov 7 (the date of the printed Declaration), it was written on the verso of a page from the newspaper the Telegraph which contains a report by Stephen F. Austin dated 1835 November 30.
