Three tracts dealing with the Ismaʻilis and the Karmatians: an extract from Kitāb manāhij al-tawassul fī mabāhij al-tarassul; an untitled collection of 4 sermons, which, although undated, are probably all contemporary; and 2 fragments of a conversation between Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī al-Bākir, the fifth Imām, and an unidentified Khālid ibn Zayd al-Juʾfy.

Presented to Edward Elbridge Salisbury by Henry A. DeForest. Presented to Yale by Salisbury in 1870.
The first text in this volume was extracted from a book obtained by the Rev. Eli Smith from Mekhaîl Meshâka of Damascus. The second text was obtained through the courtesy of Louis von Wildenbruch, Prussian Consul General of Syria (died before Oct. 25, 1849), whose dragoman, Mr. Catafago, found it near Aleppo. The third text was also obtained through von Wildenbruch. - Extent
