The correspondence consists of two autograph letters to Waldman, including one letter from Brownstein, and one letter from Waldman to "Mr. Ballou," accompanying a corrected and annotated draft of Brownstein's 3 American Tantrums pasted over the printed version of Bun, published by Angel Hair Books, by Ron Padgett and Tom Clark (1968). In addition to the draft of  Brownstein's 3 American Tantrums, there are several drafts of poems by Waldman, including one book, entitled Boat Rides, presented to Brownstein in 1971. A scrapbook, also presented to Brownstein in 1971, includes a corrected typescript draft of the poem "The Contemplative Life," as well as manuscript notes, photographs, and printed ephemera.
