"Five hundred copies of this first volume in the Gehenna Essays in Art have been printed at the Gehenna Press in Northampton, Massachusetts. The pressman was Harold McGrath. The plates have been printed at the Meriden Gravure Co., in Meriden, Connecticut. The text has been set in monotype Centaur and Arrighi types and printed on Amalfi, a handmade Italian paper; the plates on Tovil handmade in England. Fifty copies have been specially bound at the Harcourt Bindery in one-half oasis niger and are lettered I-L"--Colophon.
