- A.L.S. of 6 May 1912 to Lord Curzon. The artist tells of his role in illustrating The Mystery of Edwin Drood. "Charles Dickens told me on an occasion & under circumstances that left no doubt in my mind, that Jasper murdered Edwin Drood." Fildes writes that Edwin Drood was strangled with the double neck-scarf that Jasper wore on the night of the storm.
