“12 . ̶ Madagascar. ̶ Tamatave ̶ Quartier indigène.” People are shown on a wide street in the indigenous village area of Toamasina. A few thatched roofs can be seen behind fences that border the dwellings. The following information is printed on the back of the postcard: “Native quarters. Quartiere indigeno. Eingeborenen Viertel. Barrio indigens. Pour ‘l’Œuvre des Prêtres malgaches’, 79, Avenue de Breteuil, Paris XVe.” There is no handwriting on the back.
