Among Maclaine's other crimes is the robbing of the Salisbury Coach at Turnham Green on 26 June 1750, when he was disguised using a Venetian mask. In 1749 he robbed a coach in which Horace Walpole was a passenger; he took Walpole's watch in this incident which is mentioned in the final paragraph.
