Documents relating to the estate of John Hallett, a landowner in Barbados, written in manuscript in unidentified hands, most dated at Barbados: copy of an agreement, dated 1700, relating to Hallett's marriage to Sarah Andrews; copy of Hallett's will, dated 1716; document granting power of attorney for Hallett's estate in Great Britain, signed by Edmund Sutton and William Cogen, 1716; judgement settling Hallett's estate, signed by Robert Raymond, Baron Raymond, attorney general, 1722; inventory of the estate of William Andrews, administered by Sarah Hales, former wife of John Hallett, 1726; and list of accounts of William Andrews, 1727-1729.
Documents relating to the government of the colony of Barbados, written in manuscript in unidentified hands: copy of an appointment made by Sir Matthew Lamb for a hearing on legislation, dated 1761; document containing copies of extracts from letters, dated 1765, regarding seizure of the ship Patient Mary; articles of agreement relating to the office of secretary and remembrancer of the exchequer court, signed by Andrew Stone, 1770; and ALS from Henry Crichlow to an unidentified recipient, regarding his partnership with James Elder in the office of deputy provost marshall general, 1772. Also present is a document signed by John Gay Alleyne, granting power of attorney, 1747.
