Abstract: Letter signed from Queen Elizabeth to Sir George Carew, Lieutenant-General of the Ordnance, bearing the authority of the petty seal of the Signet. Queen Elizabeth instructs Sir George to transport all manner of ordnance from the Tower of London to the northern border towns of Berwick, Newcastle, and Carlisle. Written from the manor of Greenwich, 1595 July 9.
Description: Earlier in July 1595, a force of several hundred Spanish soliders raided the city of Cornwall inciting further need to defend the Scottish border.
