Printed ephemera relating to social events and concerts in Butte, Montana, 1889-1912. Includes 26 programs for various recitals, operas, and other entertainments at Maguire's Opera House; three wedding invitations; programs for Butte High School commencement exercises in 1893, 1894, 1895, and 1912; invitations, dance cards and programs for dances sponsored by the Comus Club (1892-1893), the Entre Nous Dancing Club (1894), the Young Men's Institute, and the Young Ladies' Institute of Butte, Montana (1894); programs and printed souvenirs from the 1893 opening of the Butte Free Public Library, the grand opening of the Murray Opera House in 1896, and the 1904 dedication of the Federal Building; two programs for horse races held by the West Side Racing Association in 1893 and 1894; several programs for concerts held by civic organizations and local church groups; an opera ticket stub; a program for the "Butte Mardi Gras" in 1904; two undated issues of "The Town Crier", Butte's daily newsletter; and three photographs. Two of the photographs are pictures of Butte's early industrial area. The third is a color photograph of an unidentified door and terrace between two marble columns. The event programs contain numerous advertisements for goods and services in Butte
