Print reproduces the George Catlin painting of 1845 in a mirror image, left to right; shows a group of fourteen in full-length portraits; twelve Iowa Indians in native dress; three chiefs (Mew-Hu-She-Kaw, New-Mon-Ya, Se-Non-Ty-Yah); three warriors (Wash-ka-mon-ya, No-ho-mun-ya, and Wa-tan-ye); four women (Ruton-ye-we-ma, Ruton-we-me, Oke-we-me, and Koon-za-ya-me); and two children (Wa-ta-we-bu-ka-na and Ta-pa-ta-me) with, in western dress, the formerly enslaved African-American diplomat, linguist, and interpreter, Jeffrey Deroine, and the circus promoter, George H.C. Melody
