There are illustrations of Indians of the northwest coast, views of Port Townsend and Seattle, Washington Territory. Many of the sketches date from Taylor's service in the Brazil Squadron</dc:description><dc:description>Dr. John Y. Taylor was assistant surgeon on the U.S. Sloop Decatur attached to the Pacific Squadron, 1854-57. From 1858-1860, Taylor  served on the ships Preble and the Dolphin of the Brazil Squadron.</dc:description><dc:description>Available on microfilm.</dc:description></oai_dc:dc>
