Manuscript on paper, containing ten miscellaneous theological tracts, nine in Arabic, written in Garshūnī (Arabic in Syriac script), and one in Syriac, as follows: 1. Maqālāt (folio 1b-125b) by Ibn al-ʻAssāl (al-Asʻad Abū al-Faraj Hibat Allāh, active 13th century), a collection of 22 theological essays. 2. Qiṣṣat Ṣāliḥ ibn ʻAbd al-Quddūs maʻa Rāhib al-Ṣīn (folio 126a-133a), a story of an encounter between Ṣāliḥ ibn ʻAbd al-Quddūs (active 8th century), a Ṣūfī poet, with a Syrian monk from China. 3. Iktishāf Fawlus (Būlus) wa-ṣuʻūduhu ilá al-samāʼ (folio 133b-152b), 'Revelation' (Apocalypse) of Saint Paul and his ascent into Heaven, an apocryphal text. 4. Masāʼil Basīliyūs wa-Ghirīghūriyūs (folio 152b-163b), questions and answers of two 4th century theologians (Basil, Saint, Bishop of Caesarea, approximately 329-379, and Gregory, of Nazianzus, Saint). 5. Iktishāf Ghirīghūriyūs (folio 164a-193b), 'Revelation' of Gregory (Thaumaturgus, Saint, approximately 213-approximately 270). 6. Khabar ʻan baʻḍ awlād al-mulūk (194a-196b). 7. Munājāt al-ḥaqq wa-iktishāf Shamʻūn al-Ṣafā (folio 196b-212a), 'Revelation' (Apocalypse) of Saint Peter. 8. Ṭeksā gawanayā (folio 212b-253b). 9. Risālat al-Qiddīs Anbā Bīsindah Usquf madīnat Qibṭ (folio 253b-232a). 10. Mujādalat Ibrāhīm al-Ṭabarānī wa-Amīr al-Muslimīn bi-Madīnat Dimashq (232b-2b9b), disputation of the Christian monk Ibrāhīm al-Ṭabarānī (Abraham of Tiberias), initiated by the Muslim prince ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʻAbd al-Malik al-Hāshimī (active 9th century), end missing

Romanization supplied by cataloger.
Script: In serṭo (West Syriac script), in different hands; in black ink, on thick cream color paper; few notes on the margins; catchwords.
Decoration: Headings and markings in red.
Layout: In single and double column of different lines.
Inside the front cover: "H. Lobdell, 1853."
On the page attached to folio 1: "This ancient Ms. I obtained from a Jacobite in Mosul and may serve to show those who read Gershuni (Arabic in Syriac characters) the mode of interpreting the mooted passages in the N. T. on which are formulated the tenets of the Jacobite Monophysites of Mesopotamia. It is entitled The Book of Questions. The answers, it is but just to say, are not generally accepted by this sect at present. A small gift to the American Oriental Society, New Haven, CT."
On folio 1a: Two ownership statements: "1. [Hādh]ā māl ʻAbd Allāh ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm alladhī (?) huwa min Balad [...] al-maʻmūrah." 2. "Hādhā māl ʻAbd al-Masīḥ."
On folio 5a: An index of "Kitāb al-tilmīdh wa-al-muʻallim" (in 22 chapters), copied by Istānīs: "Kamulat fahrasat Kitāb al-mubārak al-ʻaẓīm Kitāb al-tilmīdh wa-al-muʻallim." And in Syriac: "Uṣalaw bḥūbā Alahayā ʻal ʻal Estānīs mḥīlā da-ktāb."
On folio 122a and 122b: An ownership statement: "Hādhā al-kitāb māl Ḥajar (?) ibn Anṭūn."
At the end of folio 125b: "Kamula wa-najaz 'Kitāb al-Maqālāt' bi-ʻawn Allāh, ʻalá yad aḥqar ʻabīd Allāh, Manṣūr al-dhalīl al-ḥaqīr al-gharīb al-mustaghfir, wa-lillāh al-majd."
At the end of folio 133a: "Kamula bi-ʻawn Allāh Qiṣṣat Rāhib al-Ṣīn, ajal al-rāhib al-mukarram, al-rajul al-fāẓil, Rāhib Īshūʻ, ṣalātuhu maʻanā. Āmīn. Wa-anā al-khāṭī aṭlubu al-maghfirah min al-nāẓir fī hādhihi al-qiṣṣah, wa-kull man qaraʼa wa-kataba wa-qāla Āmīn. Āmīn."
At the end of folio 152b: "Kamula bi-ʻawn Allāh 'Ṣuʻūd al-Qiddīs Būluṣ', ṣalātuhu maʻanā. Āmīn."

On folio 220a: A medicinal recipe and some calculations.
On folio 220b: An ownership statement: "Hādhā al-kitāb al-mubārak māl Jirjis ibn Anṭūn qad kana waqaʻa fī sahmihi min ḥiṣṣat Asʻad ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz, Mā la-hu aḥad daʻwah wa-lā ṭilbah. Sanat [...] Masīḥīyah." And some scribbles.
On folio 255b. At the end of the Syriac treatise 'Ṭeksā gawanayā': "Shlem b-ʻidran Marān."
At the end of folio 232a: "Kamulat Risālat Anbā Bīsindah ṣalātuhu maʻanā. Āmīn."
Binding: In dark red leather, Type III (without flap).
