"A sutra, chapter 1. Original copy dated 1108, heavily marked in vermilion in 1122.", "The red marks are an aid to reading and intonation. The postscripts show that the copying was done on Mt. Kōya and the markings added at Ninna-zhi, Kyōto." (K. Asakawa. "Gifts of the Yale Association of Japan," 1945).
