The bride and groom are descendents of Sephardic (Spanish) Jews who settled in Italy. The ketubah is divided into two sections that are separated by green and gilt borders, enclosed by a floral border with a yellow background. One section of the document is the ketubah or the marriage contract, and the other section consists of the betrothal conditions (tena'im). The same witnesses signed both parts of the document. The groom also signed both the contract as well as the betrothal agreement. The calligraphy is in cursive.
