Gift of Anna Pomeroy Rodman, 1913., According to an autograph note inside the front cover of volume 1 of his correspondence scrapbooks, William Woodbridge Rodman began researching the Pomeroy family when he was 70 years of age. Albert Alonzo Pomeroy, who completed and published The History and Genealogy of the Pomeroy Family (Toledo: Franklin Printing and Engraving Company, 1912), states on page 3 of his preface that following the death of Rodman, the genealogy project was taken up by Rebekah Wheeler Pomeroy Bulkley, and after her death in 1908 the family records were transferred to him by Anna Pomeroy Rodman. Albert Pomeroy sent the collection to Yale University Library in April 1913 at the request of Anna Rodman, following the directive William Woodbridge Rodman's wrote inside the front cover of his first scrapbook.
