Description: Chic (1:10), page 16, back cover. Cartoon similar to early Puck and Judge. Image shows nice women in fancy hats and narrow waisted dresses protecting Garfield, standing up on a bureau, perhaps in a boarding house. A lady (in a long housecoat?) with broom and whisk broom stands in the open door apparently to remove a group of ugly women in pants, one of whom carries a sign reading "Gen. Mary Walker's Brigade of Office Seekers. Susan Anthony Lt. Col." Printed in pink, blue, and black ink. Hansen database #4393.
