Title etched below image.
Signed with initials and dated in lower left corner. "I.G.", i.e., Isabella Godfrey, the married name of Augusta Isabella Ingram.
Probably engraved and printed in England, where the printmaker presumably lived after marrying John Godfrey of Sandwich, Kent, in 1823. Possibly worked up from a sketch made on a post-nuptial continental tour. - Provenance
