Lady Conyngham, elegantly dressed, stands behind the King and converses with a soldier on the left edge of the design. Another man, dressed as royalty in a fur-lined cape, stands in a doorway on the right, angrily pointing and yelling at a woman; a sign posted next to the doorway advertises "The Life of King Henry VIII."
