Thistlewood stabs one police officer (2), and fires a pistol at another, saying, "Extinguish the lights!" Another Bow Street man (1) fires, saying, "We are Peace Officers lay down your arms"; a third supports the victim, who dies, saying, "Oh God! I am ..." A fourth comes up the stair. Six men collect behind a carpenter's bench on which are their weapons; a black man stands with sword and pistol behind Thistlewood; three men are seen in an inner room. A conspirator ('M') climbs on a carpenter's chest to escape from a high window (right), another raises a sash to escape on the left. All wear top-hats. Pikes, musket, &amp;c., are on the ground.
