The present copy is an endowment (waqf) by al-Ḥājj Aḥmad Bashā al-Jazzār (Aḥmad Pasha al-Jazzār, approximately 1730-1804), governor of ʻAkkā (Acre) to the library of his mosque in ʻAkkā, called "al-Maktabah al-Aḥmadīyah", or, "Nūr Aḥmadīyah".
