Manuscript recipe book, in a single hand, containing medical and culinary recipes. Medical recipes include remedies for "a cancer on the breast," consumption, whooping cough, palsy, "yallow janders" (jaundice) and convulsions, as well as one for "Plague, feaver, smallpox or measells" and two for "Jesuits bark" for ague. Cookery recipes include sweetmeats, wines and cakes; pickles and relishes; and baked dishes, puddings and roasts, including whole hog puddings and hams. The volume ends with a few additional cookery recipes in an early 19th century hand
