"al-Asrār al-Rabbānīyah" (Divine secrets), a treatise on magic and the occult, employing the letters of the Arabic alphabet and magic squares and circles, by Aḥmad ibn ʻAlī al-Būnī (died 1225), a well-known Ṣūfī, of North-African origin, who authored works on Sufism and "ʻilm al-ḥurūf" (science of letters) and died in Cairo; his "nisbah" (affiliation) is to Būnah (Bône, Algeria). Copied in the year 1127 of the Hijrah (1715). Name of copyist and place of copying not mentioned

Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm. al-Ḥamdu lillāh alladhī adāra bi-yad al-asrār laṭāʼif aflāk al-malakūtīyāt, wa-abraza min khidhr [khidr] al-ghayb shumūs al-maʻārif li-dhawī al-ḥaqāʼiq al-ilāhīyāt, wa-aṭlaʻa min baḥr al-nūr al-aʻlá nafāʼis jawāhir al-ʻuqūl al-nūrānīyāt, wa-aḥkama iḥkām aḥkām tadawwiru dawāʼir al-akwān bi-al-ḥurūf al-iḥāṭīyāt, al-badīʻ alladhī abdaʻa ibdāʻ ṣuwarihā fī alwāḥ arwāḥ al-ʻawālim al-ʻulwīyāt wa-al-suflīyāt, al-muṣawwir alladhī ṣawwara kunh maʻānīhā fī ʻarsh al-nafs al-wāḥidah, fa-ẓaharat fī dhawāt al-anfus al-mutaʻaddidāt ..."

In good naskh script, in black ink, on white paper; some headings and markings in red; many magic squres and circles; some notes and corrections on the margins; catchwords.
On folios 1a (in pencil): "al-Asrār al-Rabbānīyah lil-Būnī."
On folio 1a: A statement by a reader/owner: "Naẓara fīhi wa-taʼammala maʻāniyahu, dāʻiyan li-ḥāwīhi an yaftaḥa Allāh ʻalayhi futūḥ al-ʻārifīn bi-jāh al-Nabī al-amīn, ṣallá Allāh taʻālá ʻalayhi wa-sallam. Āmīn."
Colophon: "Tammat hādhihi al-Asrār al-Rabbānīyah. Wa-Allāh aʻlam bi-al-ṣawāb. Sanat 1127."
