Also includes circa 50 photographs of African American entertainers who performed at the Cotton Club in the 1930s. Includes autographed studio portraits of Hayes Alvis, Ivie Anderson, Avis Andrews, Billy Banks, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Lena Horne, Kahloah, Floyd McDaniel, the Mills Blue Rhythm Band, the Nicholas Brothers, Noble Sissle, George Dewey Washington, Ethel Waters, and Ernest Whitman. Also includes a studio portrait of Reginald Beane by Carl Van Vechten

Dora Bacote (1905-) was an African American singer who performed at the Cotton Club in the 1930s. Bacote is listed as a cast member in the 1934 Broadway play "Africana".
