J.” The Christian widow of a catechist to Father Lievens is depicted. The name of the publisher “Ern. Thill, Bruxelles.” is printed on the back of the postcard. There is no handwriting on the back.
"Houtdraagster. Porteuse de bois." An elderly woman carries a load of wood on her back. It is quite a large pile of fairly large sticks and causes her to bend over. Additional text on the back asks for monetary donations for the missions and indicates that the postcard was printed in Antwerp, Belgium.
"4. Missions catholiques des Indes Anglaises Type de femme Gadapa." A Gadapa woman poses for the camera. She has very large earrings and many bracelets. There is a handwritten note on the back of the postcard.
"Mission des Soeurs de St-Joseph de Lyon au Maduré [Madura] (Inde). 1 - Jeune Mariée au beau Sari Soyeux." A young woman stands in front of a wall hanging, dressed in traditional clothes. Additional information reads, "Véritable Photo au Bromure - Reprod. Interdite."
"Kanunnikessen - Missiezusters van den H. Augustinus." Three elderly women pose for the camera in front of buildings with large thatched rooves. Additional information on the back indicates that the postcard was published in Brussels.
"Widows after Christian Training." Two women, one seated, one standing, are posing for the camera with books in their hands and ferns around them. Additional information reads, "Zenana Bible and Medical Mission, 2, Adelphi Terrace, Strand, W.C." On the back is a handwritten name with the date May 8th, 1903.
