Marriage contract, manuscript, ink on paper, dated 3rd of Marh[eshvan] 56[5]2 (1891) at Teheran. Small parts of original text torn. Text inserted into six registers. Below the text, several registers remain empty. There is an additional wider, decorative register with a silver background above the text that contains traditional blessings for the wedding couple. This register is known in Iranian as the sar lowh. Above the sar lowh are three decorative registers containing acronyms, which are most likely blessings for the bride and groom. The text is enclosed in a long rectangular decorative border composed of a silver, green, and orange stylized vine motif. The entire document is enclosed in a red border made of a kind of tissue paper that is pasted onto the document, in a manner traditional for Iranian ketubot.
