He has (Aug.20) since been assassinated by his enemies. He was said to be an ultra -- 'Red'." "The banner at the extreme left -- folded over-has a legend something like this: 'Imperialism must be turned upside down.' The long banner on the left of Kai's right hand reads, 'Citizens have come into self realization.' The two words above his head- rest of the banner not visible- 'Take Away-' Banner showing above hat in foreground to observer's right- 'We certainly must act- or Immediate action- rest of the banner concealed.' A man stands at the center of a crowd, and several banners hanging from poles can be seen nearby., Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive., and Photo relates to the Shameen incident of June 23, 1925, part of a nationwide series of strikes and demonstrations precipitated by the killing of 13 labor demonstrators by British police in Shanghai.
