Description:
"Double decker beds in Ginling College dormitory, Chengtu, China, 1943." [now Chengdu] Four women in a room with three sets of bunk beds visible as well as two tables. and Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive.
"The best part of the many square miles of graves outside city of Chungking [Chongqing]. 1900 & before." Many large burial monuments are shown on the hillside outsdie Chongqing. Tall conical pine trees mark out the areas around the tombs.
Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive., Burial near Nantungchow [now Nantong]. Four Chinese men are lowering a casket into the ground while others watch., and This photograph is from the papers of Frank and Verna Garrett who served under the United Christian Missionary Society in the Nanjing area from 1896 to 1932.
Also included in the International Mission Photography Archive., From a series of photographs documenting a Buddhist funeral., and Paper articles burned at grave for use of the deceased in the next world. A fire is consunming the various paper artifacts that are offerings for the dead woman's spirit.
