26 letters, most autograph letters, signed, from Mauclair to French author François Jean-Desthieux, 1916-1936 and undated, about art criticism, discussing Gustave Ricard and other artists; 2 autograph letters, signed, to Jean-Desthieux from Mauclair's wife, Marguerite Mauclair, 1916 and 1917; and 22 autograph letters, signed, from Mauclair to French author André Dezarrois, 1930-1934 and undated, about authors Robert d'Humières, Francis de Miomandre, Lucien Rolmer, Paul Valéry, and others. Letters to Jean-Desthieux are accompanied by notes and summaries made by an unidentified former owner, in French.

Autograph MS travel diary, covering three extended tours on the Continent. Colebrande's first tour (p. 1-41) was in France (Dieppe, Rouen, Paris, Orleans, Brittany, etc.); his second (p. 45-74) was also entirely in France; and on his third (p. 77-215) he travelled through France and into Italy (Genoa, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Naples, Bologna, Padua, Venice, Milan) and back again across the Alps via Savoy, Geneva, etc., to Paris and Calais. At the end, various miscellaneous entries contain several receipts for varnishes and gildings and for making "stones of a paste;" several pages of advice for English travellers from France to Italy; and an account of the great Council of the Jews in Hungary, 12 Oct 1650, "by Samu. Brett who was there present."

At the beginning of each book there are spaces (9 to 13 lines) left blank for miniatures. 4- to 2-line initials for each book and for a few chapters, gold against blue and red grounds with silver or white filigree, with coarse gold ivy and black hair-spray. 2-line initials in blue or red for chapters; 1-line initials, blue or red, in table of contents. All initials with guide-letters. Chapter numbers and paragraph marks in red. Rubrics throughout., Binding: Eighteenth century. Edges red. Brown calf, spine gold-tooled, with a red label: "Miroir du Monde M. S. S. Antiq.", Script: Written by two scribes in batarde script.
